The highlight of this residence is its “clear finish” woodwork. Dulux water-based products were used, and the immaculate finish was achieved by sanding and sealing all timber before construction. This old school technique is rarely used these days but guarantees an immaculate finish every time.
This project won the MPA awards for excellence “best timber finish” in 2017 as a result. The metal support columns on this project were finished in Dulux Micaceous Iron Oxide, colour natural grey.
There was of metal on this job therefore the recommended method of application would usually be spray finish. Due to the timing and location of this project, this was not possible. After lengthy discussions with Dulux technicians and our local rep, a hand finish was decided on. A difficult undertaking on this scale, to say the least, a high-quality finish was achieved.
